About the Department

The Diocesan Department of Education is responsible to the Diocesan Board of Education and the Bishop for the day to day running of the department. This board serves as the central body that oversees all matters related to education in the Diocese. The Board comprises the clergy, education professionals and lay members who offer their expertise to ensure effective management and development of the church sponsored/owned education institutions and programmes. The institutions operate under the patronage and guidance of the Diocesan Bishop.

The Education Department oversees dozens of Anglican-sponsored primary and secondary schools across Busia and Bungoma Counties. We work closely with the Ministry of Education and school Boards of Management to maintain high academic performance and sound moral discipline.
