Assets, Lands and Archives

About the Department

The department oversees church properties, land ownership and proper documentation. It aims at improving structures and processes in managing, strengthening and authenticating ownership of Church properties. The program was initiated in 2016 by Rt. Rev. Dr Robert Magina on directive from Church Commissioners for Kenya (CCK).

Vision

A growing, caring and transformative Anglican Diocese that proclaims Christ.

Mission

To empower God's people to become change agents through the gospel of Christ.

Goal

To establish physical facilities and other forms of investment to serve stakeholders.

Objectives

  • To ensure Churches have clear ownership (Title deeds), standard naming, recommended assets, documentation, filling and archiving.

Department Scope

Assets - Church structures, equipment and projects
Lands - Church title deeds, historical background and strategic plan
Archives - Church day to day recommended and improvised service documents and filling

The department looks at three entities across the 226 churches in the diocese. Most land churches were self-donated by members; Church Commissioners for Kenya, as church trustees, authorized all church land for clear ownership and availability of title deeds to avoid family conflicts. The title status is categorized in three areas: Churches, Departments and Diocese.
